Marketing & Reservations Manager – The Sabrina Boat

Salary: £23,000-£25,000

We are looking for an experienced Marketing & Reservations Manager to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis.

About us:

The Sabrina boat is a 60-seater passenger vessel on the River Severn that runs on the river loop around Shrewsbury town centre. We offer day trips with table service for drinks and live commentary, as well as a range of themed evening parties or food and drink functions for both public events and private hire. We also have a boutique room called the Stowe above our offices which is let out by users via various holiday letting sites. This is managed by the office team, and we have some potential plans for expansion on our accommodation in the long term.

About the role:

As the Marketing and Reservations manager, you will have huge variety within your job role. One day you may be dealing with coach companies planning a succession of day trips, the next you may be planning a private event from a birthday party to a small wedding reception, and then planning the social media schedule for the coming days with support from the office team.

One of the main responsibilities of the role includes managing the bookings and availability of our day trips and private hire bookings. This can involve having meetings with customers, telephone conversations, or the sending emails to ensure that we are able to provide the guests with an experience to remember.

As we are both a tourist attraction and a function venue, our marketing strategy is extremely important to us. Part of this role will be implementing this strategy, whether that be design work for promoting theme cruises, maintaining a strong presence on social media, or working with partners and other local businesses who help to promote the business.

As Marketing and Reservations manager you will be expected to be proactive and show initiative, have strong time management skills and manage/provide direction to other members of the reservations team.

The Marketing and Reservations manager acting as the communication link between all departments, you will be involved in weekly Operations meetings, along with other members of the management team. During these meeting you will be required to report on the work you have completed during the previous week and your plan for the upcoming week. You will also be asked to provide weekly statistics on both bookings and marketing.

Full training will be provided on all our systems and the day-to-day operations of the business to ensure that you have all the tools to succeed with in the role.

Key responsibilities:

• Management of both day trip and evening bookings
• Implementation of the company’s marketing strategy
• High levels of customer service
• Management of The Stowe accommodation
• Management of the company’s reservation emails
• Event planning and management, including booking outside entertainment and catering
• Management of social media content
• Management of website content

Requirements of the Marketing & Reservations Manager:

• Ability to manage bookings accurately ensuring that business is maximised
• High level of attention to detail
• High level of time management
• Strong understanding of a variety of forms of marketing
• Competent in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, Email, and social media channels
• High level of written and verbal communication skill
• Ability to manage staff within the reservations team
• Previous experience within a hospitality, events or tourism business preferred but not essential
