Reservations & Marketing Assistant – The Sabrina Boat
Hourly rate: £7.50-£9.50
We are looking for an enthusiastic Reservations and Marketing Assistant to join our team on a part/full time, temporary basis
About us:
The Sabrina boat is a 60-seater passenger vessel on the River Severn that runs on the river loop around Shrewsbury town centre. We offer day trips with table service for drinks and live commentary, as well as a range of themed evening parties or food and drink functions for both public events and private hire. We also have a boutique room called the Stowe above our offices which is let out by users via various holiday letting sites. This is managed by the office team, and we have some potential plans for expansion on our accommodation in the long term.
About the role:
The Reservations & Marketing Assistant will be largely office-based to help with the smooth running of the booking, administration, and marketing responsibilities within a small team and will report to the Marketing and Reservations Manager. During peak season, this will involve being based on the main desk and dealing with most phone calls, emails, and face to face walk ins.
Working with the office team, you will also be required to assist with marketing responsibilities including some design work and social media marketing.
The successful candidate will be dynamic, versatile, adaptable, and willing to learn. This vacancy is a seasonal role and will only be applicable until the end of October but can be resumed in the following season at the start of March.
Key responsibilities:
- Taking enquiries and reservations by phone, email and online bookings
- Assistance with Implementation of the company’s marketing strategy including physical and digital platforms
- High levels of customer service
- Assistance with website content management
Requirements of the Reservations and Marketing Assistant:
- Customer service focused
- Organised
- Strong understanding of a variety of forms of marketing
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, Email, and social media channels
- Good level of written and verbal communication skill
- Any graphical design experience is great, but this is not essential

Myself and my wife Susan recently (26/03) spent a few hours in Shrewsbury and decided to take in a cruise on the river. Anyone who visits Shrewsbury should make this experience a must do!!! You will not be disappointed.
A lovely boat trip along the river lasts for 45 minutes with commentary along the way about Shrewsbury and some of the local landmarks. It is a good price as well and well worth doing if you are in the area would recommend.
