When Lord Hill’s Column is open, I escort people up the 172 steps and show them what can be seen from being 133 feet off the ground; this shows people both the town and the surrounding countryside. I also take an active part in the Shrewsbury Steam Rally, over the August Bank Holiday, which has many locally built Sentinel steam vehicles.
