Shrewsbury is lucky to have amazing event spaces both indoors and out. From the Quarry Park and the West Midlands Show Ground to Shrewsbury Museum and Art Gallery, the Hive Arts Center and even Shrewsbury Castle, there is always something going on in Shrewsbury.
Here is a selection of our favourite and biggest Shrewsbury events in 2023.
Camp Severn Kids Festival
4th – 6th May 2024 · The Quarry Park
In association with West Mid Showground, Camp Severn is a fun-filled camping weekend in the heart of Shrewsbury. Expect a jam-packed itinerary across four days that will keep the kids entertained while the adults relax.
Shropshire County Agricultural Show
25th May 2024 · West Mid Showground
The Shropshire County Agricultural Show has been held for an impressive century and a quarter and throughout this span of time farmers, their families and their employees, and in recent years a wider range of people have come together to enjoy themselves in the merry month of May.
Shrewsbury Food Festival
29th & 30th June 2024 · The Quarry Park
Shrewsbury Food Festival will return in June 2023 with over 180 food, drink & craft exhibitors, a field to fork area, home & gardens area, chef talks and demonstrations stage, cook along with the chef, kids activities area, live music and more.
LOOPFEST
3rd – 5th May 2024· Shrewsbury Town Centre
LOOPFEST is a one-day multi-venue Shrewsbury festival celebrating the best music and arts from across the region. LOOPFEST is a free entry event from 12pm to 8pm, with many venues hosting fringe events until the early hours. Expect to see live entertainment across a diverse range of venues in our beautiful town including Shrewsbury Castle, Shrewsbury Museum & Art Gallery, Shrewsbury Library, aboard Sabrina, St. Mary’s Church, Shrewsbury Unitarian Church as well as popular venues in town. Plus there’s plenty for kids to do with a fun trail and street performances.
Let’s Rock Shrewsbury

With a fabulous line-up of artists, Lets Rock Shrewsbury brings the very best of the 80s to Shrewsbury’s Quarry Park. Let’s Rock! has been leading the way for quality 80s music festivals since 2009, it’s great fun for the whole family.
Shrewsbury Flower Show
9th & 10th August 2024 · The Quarry Park
Shrewsbury Flower Show is one of the UK’s most loved flower show events featuring floral attractions, live performances, fireworks and many celebrity gardeners.
Shrewsbury Folk Festival
23rd -26th August 2024 · West Mid Showground
Family & dog-friendly summer music festival with the best in folk, roots, Americana & world music by the riverside in Shrewsbury.
Shrewsbury Steam Rally
25th & 26th August 2024 · Onslow Park
The annual Shrewsbury Steam Rally is one of Shropshire’s biggest events of the year, with something for all the family. A fantastic two-day event held over the August Bank Holiday Sunday and Monday, within the picturesque venue of Onslow Park, just outside of Shrewsbury.
Each year the Rally attracts thousands of people to marvel at the many vintage and steam-powered vehicles of all shapes and sizes, either in action in the Main Arena or on static display for closer inspection.
Coracle Race
13th September 2024 · Pengwern Boat Club
The Macmillan World Championship Coracle Race is a charity boat race where teams of four paddle a traditional coracle boat in a relay race across the River Severn, with the winners being crowned world champions.
Oktoberfest
4th & 5th October 2024 · The Quarry Park
50 real ales, ciders, gins, wine, cocktails and so much more served alongside amazing live music, tasty street food, an epic silent disco, a comedy club and exhibitors.
West Mid Bonfire Spectacular
3rd November 2024 · West Mid Showground
This hugely popular event features two displays – the first ideal for younger children with a reduced level of noise, followed by a louder display later in the evening.
All proceeds go to the Shropshire and West Midlands Agricultural Society’s Rural Charity which ensures the showground can continue as a vital part of the community.
