The Sabrina Boat Biennial Lift-Out: A Day to Remember!

Thursday, 20th February was a landmark day for The Sabrina Boat as we carried out our biennial lift-out, a vital part of maintaining and preserving Shrewsbury’s iconic riverboat. It was an incredible day, and we couldn’t have asked for better support from our team, partners, and the wonderful community who came to watch!

A Smooth and Successful Operation

Every two years, The Sabrina Boat is lifted out of the River Severn for essential maintenance, inspections, and a fresh coat of paint. This process ensures that our beloved boat remains in top condition, offering the best possible experience for our guests when we set sail again.

With the help of a specialist crane team, the lift-out went off without a hitch. Watching Sabrina rise gracefully out of the water is always a sight to behold—one that drew a crowd of onlookers eager to witness this unique event. It’s not every day you see a 60ft passenger boat lifted into the air!
